aims & goals
The group works within the South of England, primarily the counties of Kent, Surrey and Sussex to promote and guard the welfare of the Arabian horse.
We aim to promote the Arabian not only as a show horse but as a versatile riding horse capable of competing across the spectrum of disciplines at all levels. A wonderful riding horse for riders of all ages and abilities and we work closely with The Arab Horse Society UK in this.
The group organises shows affiliated to the AHS. The Summer Show has ECAHO “C” show status and qualifiers for Horse of the Year Show, Cherif Championships, British Arabian Championships, Midland Group Young Riders, Balanced Horse Feeds Championships, Crabbet Organisation Class and Ponies UK (PUK).
We have successful dressage teams who’s results at the AHS Championship Show at Malvern have been second to none for many years.
The group actively provides donations and support each year to various charities and events. In recent years these have included
World Horse Welfare (formerly ILPH)
The Brook Hospital
The Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund
Spinal Research, Red Wings
The Diamond Riding for the Disabled Centre
SPANA
The British Arabian Championships
AHS Welfare
AHS Marathon
AHS Endurance
SEAHG Dressage Teams
We are happy to try to help in welfare cases or where additional support is needed. Members can contact Wendy Carr or any of the committee who will endeavor to assist.
