A NEW SHOW WITH A DIFFERENCE FOR 2010
FOR ARABIAN HORSE OWNERS
The South East Arabian Horse Group have  resurrected the Arabian Performance Show, this show used to be held annually run under the banner of the AHS, but has not  been part of the show calendar for many years now.
In association with other southern based regional groups; the Wessex Arabian Horse Group, Hocon and The Eastern Arab Group, the Southern Arabian Performance Show will run on Saturday 3rd of July at Pachasham Equestrian Centre in Leatherhead Surrey.
This venue is one in of the best in the South of England and allows a variety of disciplines at one well kept show ground, with large rings and a first class all weather arena and is an easy to access venue from all directions. The Performance Show will have something for everyone and all are encouraged to come and take part maybe in a new discipline for the first time.
The show is open to all owners of registered Purebred, Part bred and Anglos Arabians whether a member of a regional group or not. There will be a team competition running alongside the individual classes and all the regional groups have been asked to enter two teams of 4 nominated riders and horses. Junior riders are encouraged to come and compete and a special rosette will be awarded in every class for the highest placed junior rider sixteen years and under.
So what is on offer on the day;
The show sets out to offer a class for every discipline, there will be show jumping classes both a Novice and Open class, plus a Top Score which is always fun to watch for the spectators. There are Novice and Open Working Hunter classes, Pachasham has a wonderful course of working hunter fences. A Hunter Trial of 12 fences will be run over a purpose built course, this will be at novice level so everyone should have go.
The dressage classes to be held in the all weather arena will include three tests Prelim. Novice and Elementary. The Combined Training class will include the hunter trial and a specified dressage and jumping class.
There will be showing classes for Riding Horses both small and large and a Side Saddle class as this is becoming more popular. Plus we have included a Pairs Class open to all sizes  and shapes and riders of all ages to impress the judge with their togetherness in a  showing routine. There are three Western classes, the Arabian horse is very popular with western  riders and we hope they will come and support the show, and it will be a new experience for many to see this different discipline.
Finally we have a gymkhana class which includes five races and I am sure the adults will be upstaged by the younger riders, but both riders and horses will enjoy the competition but probably not as much as the spectators watching them.
This is a new show and has taken a lot of effort to organise and we hope it will be supported by all Arabian horse owners in the Southern counties. The schedule can be downloaded from www.seahg.co.uk and all the regional group sites mentioned above. We hope it will be a fun and enjoyable day for both horses and riders and we welcome spectators to come and watch the variety of classes throughout day.
