Young Stars: Chloe & Alice Heaver |
Sisters Chloe and Alice Heaver have grown up knowing horses just like their mum Tracy and her mother before her.
Their first pony was a Welsh A x Shetland, called Little William, when Chloe was 3 years and Alice was still under 1. ‘Billy’ brought fun and taught a crucial lesson: How to stick on a pony when grass is in sight!

Chloe Heaver riding Alpha Centauri |
At the age of 6 Chloe moved on to a 12.2hh Welsh B x riding pony mare (Tanzean Sweet Lulaby). However she proved to be a handful and chose not to take her out too much. Instead they bred from her as a 5 year old by covering her to Jackets Man of the Road They were hoping for a nice 13.2hh but instead a 12hh show pony was produced. (Tanzean Royal Ferness) who eventually came 2nd at the Royal International Show in hand and also became the ideal pony for Alice to do lead rein and first ridden. |

Later they brought a 13hh show hunter pony (Master Pickwick). Unfortunately in his first showing season, he had a nasty accident in the field when he tried to jump over what he thought was a bunch of thistles, it turned out to be a barb wire fence. It took a year to mend him but disaster stuck again when he came down with severe laminitis. Luckily he still managed to stay with us but Alice had sadly outgrown him to ride in the show ring by the time he fully recovered.
At the age of eleven Chloe took a three year break from riding but came to the conclusion that ‘having a life’ was boring and so she decided to look for a something to ride. Whilst searching through the Friday Ad, an advert for a 3 year old PBA mare caught her eye. Going for ‘peanuts’ and had a temperament to die for! So they had this ‘bonkers’ idea that Chloe and this youngster could start again from fresh by learning together. On first impressions this new mare was only meant to be a hack about but as she was in good condition for showing, Chloe insisted to take her to a local show and see how things went. They went well, and she is still showing her today. The mare’s name Alpha Centauri (Voyajer x Beau Shamouti) and last season’s results:
1st Four Winds Show (qualifying for Cherif on first attempt)
1st SEAHG Spring Show - Novice Ridden Part Bred Arab
1st SEAHG Spring Show - Small Riding Horse
1st SEAHG Summer Show - Intermediate young riders
Reserve Champion SEAHG Summer Show - part bred and pure bred ridden championship
Placed in all her classes at PUK and Reserve Champion in Newcomers Part Bred
1st and Champion Edenbridge & Oxted Show – Timberwolf Show Hunter Pony
1st and Reserve Champion SEAHG Autumn Show – Open Ridden

Alice Heaver riding Night Shadow |
Another successful horse for the Heaver sisters is Alice’s ISRT PBA, Night Shadow (Yealand Night Owl x Amdily Rose). Alice was Reserve Champion at the SEAHG Summer Show - Intermediate young riders and also won her class in the ISRT at the Four Winds show. Chloe has also had success with him taking a clean sweep at the NPS area 17 show, by winning her part bred class, the championship, then her ISRT class, the championship, and then became supreme champion. |

Chloe and Alice now know that nothing else can compare to the influence of the Arabian horse, so we can only imagine more success for them at SEAHG shows and further a field (luckily Chloe’s favourite colour is red).
