In-Hand classes report

The Show was held in near perfect conditions at the South of England Showground, with the rings a credit to the ground staff making it a safe and easy environment for both handlers and riders.
Judges for the purebred inhand classes were Mrs Ingali Martesson from Spain, judging the females and Mr Michael Harris judging the males. |

The day started with two huge classes of yearlings for each judge. The grey colt H Kruger by Ruger AMW shown for Clare Chillingworth by Rhodri Jones took his class and the Junior Male championship and went on to be the Overall Youngstock Champion, from the three you old filly class winner and Junior Female Champion Melena IA belonging to Kay Spicer shown by Rebecca Carr. |

All the youngstock classes were well filled Kubiara taking the 2 year old filly class for Paul Atkinson bred By R Sax in Germany and Mr Aggads Roe Jalmoud taking the colt section, Bychan Arabians had the three year old colt winner with Pysnpsynattii by Pysnergy.
The senior mare classes were again large and competitive the Barren Mare class went to Love by Design by Versace for Mrs Foreman ahead of Silverdale Training Centres Shifali. These two went through to take champion and reserve in the Senior Female Championship. The brood mare class went to Mr P Atkinson Prawica by Ararat bred by the Michalow State stud from Gerald Watson’s homebred Yumana 11de F by Borneo
The gelding classes were again strong Mrs K Marion’s Ibn Djammal taking the youngstock class and Mandy Burrs Rushkar by El Saleem the senior with Ibn Djammel coming out ahead in the gelding championship. |
| The Senior Stallion classes brought forward just 5 for the junior section with a another triumph for Gerald Watson with ESP Estoro DE F a hombred horse by El Perfecto with Pardrons Mist in second place for Mrs Knight. The senior class was much larger and Mr Harris chose Zircon Alkasaab by MA Alishah over Eddashaaan and Narisma The Senior Male Championship was a tense affair with Zircon Alkasaab champion over Mrs Butts Eddashaan. |

Anglo and Partbred inhand classes were not that well attended but had reasonable entries in all classes judged by Dr Joan Bishop, In the senior section the winning gelding was Mayway Momento with Fantastica by Fawor taking the mare class, she then went on to be senior champion, The youngstock classes brought forward into the ring for the first time, a two year old D’Artagnan by Arastin out of Broadstone Dresden home bred by Mr & Mrs Atkinson & Mrs Howard Price. This young horse really took the eye, taking the class and the Younstock Championship from Kesra’ Image second in the same class and the Light Horse Championship winner.
D’Artagnan made it a special day for his owners when he claimed the title of Supreme Inhand Show Champoion from the Purebred Youngstock Champion H Kruger so the youngsters reigned supreme this year in the South East.
I must also mention some other inhand classes that really make this show so popular, the Amateur Owners Breeder class boasted 19 entries and was fiercely contested. Dr Joan Bishop had a real task to make her choice PS Kabali with Mrs Quispe Flores finally triumphed from Ms Pa with Vas Sahara Bey. The Young Handlers were judged by Rebecca Carr from Silverdale and was won in fine style by Jake Berminham with Lymerik. The Crabbet Bred Arabian Class was held for the first time at the show with good entries judged by Michael Harris, he chose Red House Cinderella belonging to Davina Ransley as his winner. Last but not lease the Veterans had a worthy winner in the shape of Maleki Ibn Almaza owned by Sheila Morgan by Manneki who belied his 25 years. |
